Underground Railroad
The Underground Railroad was a secret path that slaves followed to escape. The South thought that the North shouldn't help the slaves runaway in the Underground Railroad. They thought this way because the South saw slaves as prooperty, and they didn't think it was fair that they took their property. The south needed Slaves because there was alot of work to do in the South. There was not that much work to do in the North. Slaves were beat if they didn't work fast enough or if they were caught trying to escape.
